On September 3, the World Economic Forum (WEF) published an annual report on global competitiveness for 2014-2015.
The first place in the ranking, as in the past six years, was taken by Switzerland, then goes Singapore, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands. Germany was ranked the 6th, the United States – 7th, U.K. – 8th, Hong Kong – 9th, and Japan – 10th.
Accordimh to the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan this year’s Tajikistan was included inthe ranking. as for next five countries: Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Ecuador, Liberia, they were not include to the Competitiveness Rankings.
Kazakhstan has retained its position in the global competitiveness ranking, and took 50th place with an overall average score 4.4.
The Global Competitiveness Index integrates the macroeconomic and the micro/business aspects of competitiveness into a single index.
The report “assesses the ability of countries to provide high levels of prosperity to their citizens. This in turn depends on how productively a country uses available resources. Therefore, the Global Competitiveness Index measures the set of institutions, policies, and factors that set the sustainable current and medium-term levels of economic prosperity.
